Session One - Jesus

In our first session Mark introduces us to who Jesus is. Mark opens his gospel with the words:

“The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God…” (Mark 1:1)

Mark reveals how Jesus’ authority is matched by his compassion for people. As you hear these accounts, consider whether the way Jesus uses his power makes him someone you could trust.

In this session, we see that Jesus is offering the solution to our biggest problem - sin. We’re going to see God’s loving character put on show as he offers us the solution to that problem.

For many people, Jesus’ death looked like the end. His followers had scattered, and his enemies appeared to have won. But in this session, we’ll see it was all part of God’s plan – Jesus was in control, and his death wasn’t the end of the story.

We’ve followed the story of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection through Mark’s eyewitness account. At the end we are left with a simple but life-changing invitation: follow me.
