News | Gaining the confidence to lead

I loved the Christianity Explored Table Leaders Confidence training. It created a sense of anticipation, privilege and responsibility, all set within a Biblical context.

It tackled all the important issues; the power of the Word, the drama of human blindness, the necessity of sensitivity, the importance and empowering reality of God-dependence!  It would be great if the training could become a regular event to encourage and equip us further.

As a first-timer, the TLC was absolutely invaluable. The sessions gave me a practical overview of the course and some insightful guidelines about dealing with explorers and structuring the discussion times. Personally, I would have felt even more out of my depth on the first night without it. The speakers were very encouraging and realistic about what our expectations ought to be.

The discussion group time, where the team shared a bit about who they are, was good for getting to know others on the CE team. From week to week you could ask how folks were getting along and say, "Help, had a bad day, need some prayer tonight". It was good to have a ‘dry run’ at some of the explorers' questions and so discover what the purpose was of some of those questions and how we might approach Bible studies with explorers.

Rick and I thought that all the training sessions were superbly done; well rehearsed and foundationally sound, which is often not the case in similar types of sessions.
